Who are we?

Georgians for the Arts is more than just an organization; we are a community united by a shared passion for the arts and a common goal to ensure the growth, prosperity, and sustainability of arts and culture in Georgia.

As the leading arts and culture advocacy organization in Georgia, we advance our mission through year-round arts and culture advocacy activities, artist programs, and networking initiatives that bring together artists, arts educators, local arts organizations, and business leaders, all working towards a better Georgia. Our impactful research, advocacy, and educational efforts, supported by our members, are making a difference in the arts and culture community of Georgia.

We are proud to be the state’s designated representative to the State Arts Advocacy Network facilitated by Americans for the Arts. This role underscores our commitment and influence in the arts and culture sector.

Georgians for the Arts, incorporated in 2019 as a 501(c)4, is supported by our members and all other generous supporters to sustain and advance our mission to serve the arts and culture community of Georgia.

Program Descriptions

Bi-Weekly Newsletters

News updates are distributed to Georgia’s arts professionals, supporters, elected decision-makers, and the media. We are passionate about sharing your good news, boosting traffic and visibility within our network, and raising awareness of the importance of the arts and culture to Georgia’s local, state, and federal leadership.

Quarterly Statewide Calls

We review and discuss the latest state and federal funding and other policy issues that impact Georgia’s arts and culture community. These calls play a crucial role in keeping our community up-to-date and well-networked and maintaining ongoing communication to advance our mission.

Slack Community

Membership in Georgians for the Arts offers you the opportunity to tap into the collective knowledge and expertise of its members, fostering a sense of inclusivity and community.

The Rules Calendar

With generous support from Americans for the Arts, our Arts Action Center is regularly updated using BillTrack50. We monitor every bill at the Statehouse that has the potential to impact the arts industry.

Issue Briefs

These are prepared when bills are added to the Georgia Legislative calendar, and action may be needed to help support the bill or express concerns to see it rejected.

Building Legislative Relationships

Through support from Americans for the Arts, we use VoterVoice software to get your message to your elected officials, be it at the Statehouse or Capitol Hill.

Special Convening, Educational Opportunities, & Workshops

We offer workshops, resource sessions, and membership discussions regarding matters and issues of importance to the arts and culture community.

Reciprocal Membership Discounts

Organizational members are invited to join our reciprocal membership program, where we issue an organizational-specific discount offer to use as an additional benefit for the organization’s subscribers.

On-Demand Resources

Our website provides a real-time news updates, facts and figures, research studies, talking points, among others.

Opportunities & Directories

We provide member-submitted funding opportunities, calls for proposals, and work opportunities. We also maintain various online directories designed to support the arts and culture community with a variety of needs.

Georgia Arts Day

The culminating event of our calendar occurs during Georgia’s legislative session in Atlanta, where Georgians from across the state gather to network in person with each other and hear about the State of Georgia’s arts.

Membership Options

Individual

You get opportunities for arts advocacy training and event participation, legislative alerts, up-to-date information on arts and culture-related policy issues, resources and data for better equipping you as an arts advocate, GA4Arts promotional swag discounts (available late 2024), free or reduced-price admission to convenings, networking opportunities, and events, free access to published Georgia advocacy, data, or tourism reports, free access to toolkits and other online training tools, recognition on website and print publications, and eligibility to become a GA4Arts content contributor.

Contributor

All benefits are included in Bronze Membership, plus one complimentary ticket to Georgia’s Arts Advocacy Summit.

Associate

All benefits for Silver Membership plus two complimentary tickets to Georgia’s Arts Advocacy Summit.

Arts & Cultural Organizations

Includes all benefits of Associate Membership plus free call for proposals opportunity listings, free funding opportunity listings, free work opportunities listings, logo inclusion on the website and select promotional materials, an invitation to GA4Arts Advisory Council, an invitation to integrate Arts Action Center into your website, and a limited-use logo to display your annual membership and your commitment to Georgia’s arts and culture.

Arts Advocate

Suppose a paid membership is out of reach. In that case, accept our invitation to the free membership program, which allows you to become an Arts Advocate and participate in arts advocacy training and events while also receiving resources to equip you as an effective Georgia arts advocate.
