Georgia Governor Kemp Proclaims October as Arts and Humanities Month

October is National Arts and Humanities Month – a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America, which started in honor of the twentieth anniversary of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Arts and Humanities Month celebrates access to the arts at local, state, and national levels, encouraging individuals, organizations, and communities to participate in the arts, offering opportunities for local leaders to show their support of the arts, and raising public awareness about the role the arts and humanities play in our communities and lives.

The arts and humanities play a critical role in fostering connection and compassion, Arts and Humanities Month is a time for our community to come together, reflect on, and recognize the power of the arts and humanities to make a difference and change our lives for the better.
