Diana Abu-Jaber: I think a lot of my writing comes directly out of that–the tension between identities and the tension between cultures, and so many of us actually experience it in various ways, not necessarily through immigration. But for a lot of us, we move around, or we feel caught between generations, we feel caught between different identities. I feel like that’s where so much of the juice of art work lies, is in the tense places, the uncertain places and the shadowy places. That’s where I like to go.
