On March 23, 2021, the Georgia House of Representatives submitted as a pre-filing for the 2022-23 Georgia legislative session a bill to give Georgia taxpayers an option to contribute a portion of a tax refund to the Georgia Council for the Arts.
Current contribution options include Georgia Wildlife Conservation Fund, Georgia Fund for Children and Elderly, Georgia Cancer Research Fund, Georgia Land Conservation Program, Georgia National Guard Foundation, Dog & Cat Sterilization Fund, Saving the Cure Fund, Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen Program, Public Safety Memorial Grant.
A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Article 3 of Chapter 7 of Title 48 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to tax returns and furnishing of information, so as to authorize Georgia taxpayers to make certain voluntary contributions through the income tax payment and refund process to the Georgia Council for the Arts; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date and applicability; to repeal conflicting laws and for other purposes.
